Best powered USB hub

Hi chaps,

Im in need of a bit of help with USB hubs. I bought a cheepy USB hub from Maplin, which was not powered, and its not really good enough.

I've got a KVM i use to switch mouse and keyboard between computers, and I connected a USB hub to the KVM so I could switch mouse, headphones and a keyboard between computers. The HUB is dreadful, I leave the mouse charging from the HUB and it just takes for ever.

Im in need of a high powered USB hub, min 4 USB's, that will allow the mouse to charge just as fast as if it was connected to the computer itself.

Any recommendations?

Another thing that would be amazing, do the powered USB hubs stay powered when the computer is off? meaning that the mosue would charge even if the computer is off? I have an iMac and have to keep it in sleep for the mouse to keep in charging, it would be good if the HUB charged the mouse and not the iMac.

I bought a Targus 4 port USB hub because it stated it was always on. But when I turn the mac off, at has hardly any power coming out of it, jsut enough to turn the light on on my mouse charger. Not even enough to charge an iPhone.

I need a really good USB with always on feature.

Im not afraid to spend money. I need a really good one to charge my tech when the macs off.

Any ideas? someone has to know a good one!
