what are the best shooter games for the pc? im getting a new pc and wanted to know which shooters to buy first....
 
To be honest the best way to see which games you would have more interest in look over the screen shot contest. That has tons of screens from a good number of shooter type games. http://www.computerforum.com/21659-screenshot-contest.html

You will soon see from there that a pair of shooters played here at times are Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix GOLD, Half Life, Half Life 2 and recently added HL2 Episode One. Many favor Prey, Fear, abd Counter Strike: Source.
 
hey thanx. iv heard of those games..they are supposed to be good. What about games like call of duty? oh and by the way when if ever is call of duty 3 coming out for the pc?
 
Hey mate have you tried playing "Warrock"?

Its a free FPS and is very good.
Its a free alternative to BF2

Also consider Call of duty 2 but of course thats not free:cool:

Source is like a revised version of 1.6. They're a lot similar with distinct but subtle differences..... Source is alot newer, though, and has better graphics........

To really say which one is better is all upon perspective...... I've never played 1.6 so I really can't give you an opinion on which one is better.....

I am really into Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter right now, it is a very demanding game though. A decent system may still need a lot of memory and lowered settings to play. It is fun, however not immensly popular you can still find enough online games to keep you busy.
 
Call of Duty 2, Battlefield, and several others are named in the screen shots posted in the screenshot contest. To really get an idea of the more popular shooter/action type games you'll have a few laughs there. :D

The graphics arent the best in the world, as the game is nearly five years old, but the multiplayer is brilliant lol
 
Some of the most popular games go back further then five years for sure. Try the infmaous Duke3D or Wolf3D. And who can forget the origianl Half Life. Those were followed by Return to Castle Wolfenstein after Doom and a few others.

If you want a good first person shooter for single player, then these are the best choice:
Prey
Call of Duty2
Qauke4
FEAR
Tomb Raider Legend (third person shooter but it is a good game)

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is one of the worst game I ever played. the game is very boring, and I didn't see any thing special with it.
Also, yes I agree that it needs powerful system, but the graphics is not good at all. Prey is less demanding but the graphics in my opinion is better that Ghost Recon. and it is more fun than Ghost Recon.

Delta force is not bad game, but it is too old. There is much better games today like FEAR or prey.
I don't see any reason for any one to get Delta Force: Black Hawk Down, if there much better games.

Fear Combat is the multiplayer version of Fear and it's free. Get it at www.joinfear.com No trial period free forever and you can play it with friends who bought the full version. :P :P :P
 
Shooter game? naaaa.... But you can have some fun with State of Emergency going through the shopping malls and streets taking on gang members for points as well as breaking some windows as everyone else is running around shoplifting. You can still break some heads there. :P
