best specs for vista premium?

i'm buying a new laptop with vista premium on it, but i can't go above a certain budget. Would it be better to run vista on a laptop with a 60GB HD with 2GB RAM... or a larger hard drive with only 1GB of RAM?

How much space does vista premium take up?
 
I would go for more ram, though i just reformatted my drive not too long ago and with some games/apps/music i have 218Gb free of 298... so the hdd space would be pushing it a little MAYBE... not sure.
