Ok so I've been using my Sennheiser HD 202's for a year now. They really are phenomenal headphones but they are beginning to show their price.

What is the best pair of headphones for $100 or less?

Uses in order of importance

1. BASS (strong but not muddy)
2. Closed design (Will be used for when I play drums, so must block out external sound fairly well)
3. Comfy (I wear glasses)
4. Durability

Main uses will be Music and games. No interest in movies.

whats the purpose of wearing headphones that block out sound when you play drums, isnt the point to hear the drums?

Its so he can hear the metronome while playing so he stays in time and so if he does covers then he won't mess up on certain parts of a song.

I never play with a metronome. I always just jam out to music. It may not be the most effective form of learning but it is the most fun and I have a great ear for drum tracks and can hop into music very well and play along. Makes you feel a lot more comfortable playing with music and allows for more creativity.

And trust me. You can hear the drums through the headphones. I have to kick my volume up to 80% when I play to hear the music. They're not a quiet instrument. On a quiet day you can hear me playing in the street when I'm in the basement playing. My neighbors strangely have never complained after 3.5 years of it though. I asked once and they said they never heard anything.
