Please tell me what the best possible system is...i getting it together for a friend
money is only an issue if it exceeds around 15k

bb in about 15 minutes with what i would do... btw, i wouldn't build a server type machine... but that is just IMO...

What kind of system would you like or what do you meant about it? Do you mean networking system or what? Need more information, thanks...

Over $14,000 for a computer?! (Are we talking U.S. dollars, or Singapore dollars??) What in God's name do you plan on doing with this box, nuclear physics simulations? Run corporate networks and databases? Render CGI video for Lucasfilm?
Jeez, I'd be happy to spend $1,400 on a computer, never mind ten times that! Man, if you got >$10k to spend on one box, more power to ya!

yeah i was gonna say more HDs. and is it possible to have more than 4 gigs ram with a dual core processor?
i wus thinking of more harddrives... about the ram, his mobo only supports up to 4GB, plus if he could have 8GBs then it would be like DDR233 or smething (they don't have really fast ram if u get a 2gb stick)... this is fine amount and very fast:)

yea just spend the rest of the money on some more harddrives

he doesn't; if he really had that much to spend he would not be asking us advice.
These post come up every so often, people start them often with some cok and bull story about having a huge budget. They just like to see what people say, and what the best system config is.

what are you taling about?

if you read what i said, i said my friend has that much money
if you look at my sig you will see that my comp is around 2k and that my friend was asking me since i just built one. I have had lots of help from this place so i wanted to ask around

is this a joke, because the last guy was like, guys look at this build, it was the most expensive crap he could find. it is not worth spending 15,000 because you could spend 5,000 at most now and then in two or three years time for a further 5,000 you could get one better than the one now and so on. with the rate that tech is changing, it is not worth it.

I agree with spamdos... Even if he were to spend that much money on all that high end stuff... in about 6 months there is probably going to be something better out there. Then in about 1-2 years all that stuff is going to be second rate... Unless you have thousands of dollars just lying around to spend on computer parts... it would be pointless i think to waste a whole lot of money on the top end stuff when in 6 months something better will be out... but hell... if you got the money then spend it
