I'm looking for a tv tuner In the price range less than $70 US dollars. any suggestions. I would like it to have a composite RCA (i think thats what its called)

Hi, i was also searching for a tv tuner about 3 months ago. R u looking for an internal or external tv tuner card, and do u want it to be digital or analog or hybrid(both). I think that the best external tv tuner is the Twinhan Magicbox Pro, cos it is hybrid and has TONNES of features, including composite feature, and s-video feature. they give u a set of converters so u can convert the s video plug into rca plugs to use on a VCR or etc. in Australia it costs $199AU, but not sure how much u can get it for in US.

And do u just plan to use it to watch or record programs and do you want to connect a pay tv box to the tuner. for the Twinhan Magicbox Pro http://www.twinhan.com/news_releases_2.asp?newsid=93 just an article on it.

Yes it must be able to run NTSC video
I dont care weather its inside or outside.
I dont have to record anything but if it falls into the price range that would be fine
I dont care if its digital or analog
It will be used 60% for gaming and 40% for TV

basically do u want it inside ur pc, or r u planning to use it for ur laptop, or constantly use a different pc for the tuner(if u hav more than 1 pc). I am going away, i will get back to u in 2 days time-sorry. Have a look at leadtek winfast. It's prices r pretty cheap.

WinTV are suppose to be some of the best. I have a WinTVPVR150 and I'm very pleased with it. I recorded an old VHS and it preserved the quality perfectly.

The big question though is what do you wish to do with it. These particular capture cards have an onboard MPEG2 buffer. This helps your computer when capturing MPEG2 videos, but it also causes the video to be a few seconds behind the life source. So, you couldn't play any video games with this type...

If you just get a plain WinTV(I think it's called ToGo, or that might JUST be the USB one) but any without the PVR, you'll just have a harder time captureing videos if you wish to.

And finally, about the standards...US is NTSC, but almost all devices can handle either PAL or NTSC...

I have a Twinhan magicbox Pro external hybrid, sadely it doesn't play on NTSC, for ur sake. I use it all the time. I recommend u get a digital tv tuner because the quality is way better then analog. For an internal tv tuner the
WinFast DTV1000 T looks to me to be pretty good.

go to this web site and check out the specifications, to me they seem pretty good. It also has the s-video input feature, which is what u wanted, the only minus i see is that u have to have a digital T.V antenna.
