best virus detector

can anyone suggest which program they consider the best at detecting a virus in a folder before they open the folder

So your first thread gets locked and you make a new one?

By your own admission you illegally pirated a copy of Photoshop CS4 and now want to cover your own a$$ and run a virus check. Your breaking forum rules for the second time in 30 minutes.

In case you forgot about the info in the first thread, all sorts of nasty stuff gets installed on your pc from pirated software. A scan will find most of the nasties, but not all of them. Not to mention you would be at risk for a plethora of security vulnerabilities and zero support from Adobe (obviously) how many more threas are you going to locked on this topic?
 
thanks for the reply is it possible for a vrus to get from one drive to another or is it restricted to the drive it enters originally
also any suggestions on a slow computer, does this mean its clogged with adds or somehtin
i have norton 360 but its still running slow

firstly i didnt download somethin , some one did on my computer, they have done it before and believe me they wont do it again just tryin to make sure it doesnt damage my computer tryin to ascertain if it can be contained or if i should just delete it even so the other questions about it staying on the original drive are valid for lots of things surely its a good thing to know if any thing virus trojan adware can egt around your computer i dont know thats why im askin
 
I'll get my .02 in quick.

I use BitDefender 2009. Good luck torrenting it (really, good freakin luck). It's by far the best program I have ever used and has one quite a few awards.

Also, maybe go buy a new HD... if you're that concerned about this.

Delete the folder, put a password on your computer so that this "person" can't download this stuff and call it a day. Thread closed.
