BETA? and video editing software.

I have two questions. What is a Beta version of something? What is a good video editor and where can i get? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Alot

a beta version means its in its testing stage, so its not fully released and still has bugs and problems

Adobe Premier Lots of stores carry it and i think you can get it off the website
