better cpu performance for 3dmark...

I just recently bought a p4 3ghz w/HT (Northwood/12 cap) processor and I want to overclock it. However, I don't know much about oc'ing cpu's and was wondering what was a good and safe way to go about it. I oc'ed it before to a measily 3.2 ghz (to be "safe") but my comp randomly shut off during a 3dmark03 benchmark test. I haven't seen anyone oc their cpu to 3.2, however I have seen system specs with 3.4 ghz overclocking with a NW cpu. Was it a lack of voltage that caused the shut down? if so, how do I modify it to be sufficient? or is there something else I can do to get more out of my cpu? PLEASE HELP! Also, is it possible to get above a 10,000 3dmark score with my current rig specs (below)? if not, what hardware can I get to increase my score? (9160 was my best)

1. You'll need to get good cooling ... thats probably the biggest reason as to why your system is crapping out

2. OCing P4Cs is actually fairly easy and the chips are quite friendly to it, the 3Ghz one included

3. As for voltage, you'll have to pop into the BIOS and have a look around for the VCore and see if you can manually bump it.

4. You can bump your 3Dmark score no sweat by (a) OCing the memory and (b) OCing the video card
