is it better, and cheaper to buy or build a PC.
for example, for home audio recording/video editing/HIGH quality gaming.

^ Well said.
If you want a lower end/office computer you can't go wrong with retail stores, go to Walmart, and you can find a PC for ~$400, w/LCD monitor. Sometimes even cheaper.
If you want a mid-high end computer, you could build it just for fun or sometimes, some retailers have nice deals on HTPC's and entertainment PC.
If you want best of the best or a gaming rig, you can't beat the prices off Newegg.com or Tigerdirect.com so I'd be a lot funner, cheaper and better quality parts if you build your own gaming rig. Beware: retailers such as Dell, Alienware etc will sell you overpriced gaming computer so I wouldn't even bother to look.

Believe us when we say that putting it together yourself is very easy, and even a novice computer user can figure it out with the help of online guides. Trust me you don't need somebody to build it for you.

wow thank you, will this be powerfull? if you coul rate this out of ten what would it rank? what are the pros/cons of this build.... also i do need a moniter good ones are expensive!!
yes it will be powerfull, i would give it a 10, well you can get a 22" inch monitor for around $200, so that would just go over you budget, have a look at the monitors on newegg, and post a few that you like and we can tell you what is the best one to get.
