bf2 doesnt support vista?

I bought a new computer went with vista because its newer and i didnt want to be out of date so i tried to re-install BF2 because i love that game and it wont let me join servers (i downloaded the patch) and when i go to the easyinfo it says fail for OS i wondering if that would be the cause can somone help please?
 
It works fine for me.

I have found that you need to click the regular Battlefield 2 icon, not the "play bf2 online now!" one

Are you running as admin, is UAC turned off, firewall letting it through?
 
im running as admin i also quick the reg battlefield2 logo not sure what UAC is. firewall im pretty sure is turned off ill double check. the servers show up in white writing and then when you click its like it doesnt respon and then when i go to favorites to check the s erver its in red? when i go to join the server the music stops and it seems like its going to work but it just stays on the screen for the servers menu but you cant click anything almost like it freezes.
 
Try going into control panel, classic view, user accounts, disable user account control.

UAC is the annoying thing that always pops up and asks "Are you sure.."
 
when you click multi-player it stars finding servers the only ones that are red is the map i dont have highway to tampa others are white. after i try to connect to a server the music dims like its going to connect to the server but it just stays on the servers menu u frozen. then after i ctrl alt delete and reboot the game i chek my favorites where the servers automatically go they are red. This is really odd and its making me mad i wish things would just bloody work.
 
if its nothing to do with vista then i have no clue what so ever ebcause i had this game running working perfectly fine on my old computer with XP and now i have thos new computer install it no different then if it were on my old computer and i get the patch from the same website as i got it on my old computer i ahvnt changed a thing and it doesnt work?? i do get it honestly somone please help me :(
