Yo, just got a usb headset to use in bf2. I have xfire but that doesnt recognise its there even though its working right now without xfire turned on. Then when i get into battlefield it doesn't know its there, with my other headset I had the same issues, it recognised it then when i went into the game i couldnt do anything. Basically what i have is this guys issue:

anyhelp would be much appreciated.

thanks.

I would suggest gettting a Headset that plugs into the sound ooutput, generally USB headsets are not the best.

Well, BF2 is quite buggy with pieces of hardware, I know that my headset conked out for a while, and another didn't work until I kept messing with some of the settings. I would suggest lowering the threshold of voice detection in the game, since if you set it too high it won't transmit the sound below that threshold. (should be in the same voice/audio options area...)

yeah ive tried both types now. Do you think it could be because Im using the input at the front of my pc and not the back? i know it sounds random but yeah. im so puzzled as to wtf is going on.

Is the other type usb as well? I had a problem with my headset not working at first, but I just lowered the detection threshold and it worked fine. You are pushing the right button during the game as well, right?
