BF2 Ping Problems

I play Battlefield 2 a lot and was wondering why I get kicked so much due to ping. I have cable, and a very strong computer. I have a ping of around 161, most servers kick above 150. Is there any way to lower it down to the 150 range. What should I do?

Try connecting to servers which are close to your location, if you try to connect to servers overseas ping will be fairly higher, like you said around 150, thats what i get when connected to North America servers.

There are plenty of good servers on BF2... Anyway if you always get high ping, even on close servers, it could be your connection, even though your connection has high bandwith it still can have higher ping. For example, i normally get 5 to 30 ms playing online, while someone else with cable also could get 80 to 120 ms ping even though the server is just as close for them.
