BF2 Problem, how surprising

Whenever i click on multiplayer or single player it automatically exits the game.
This only started happening when i put all the patches on it.

I have nvidia 6600 with latest driver, amd 64 3000+ and 1 gb ram.
I just want to play the stupid game online.
 
I have had many problems with BF2. I have a radeon 9700 peice of shit. I used to be able to play for about 10mins before it would lock up on me and id have to restart. Downloading the patch didnt help. I finally got an upgraded laptop cooler and overclocked my video card and no longer have any problems.
 
Dude that game itself is such a piece of sh**. I tried to play it with a brand new laptop I had purchased and had everything it needed and I could only play it on low settings, barely. I just spent WELL OVER a grand on building a new desktop and it NOW it will play on all high settings. Just ignore the "recommended" settings they give you because you really NEED at least a gig of ram, amd athlon 3200+, a video card that has at least 12 or 16 pipelines, and good cooling. If you don't have all that, forget about playing that piece of crap.
