Should I go with a full tower or a mid tower, I cannot decide.

What are the advatages and the disadvantages?
 
Larger the case, more allowance for more components such as HDD. But the bigger the case, the bulkier and heavier they are. Larger the case, more allowance for airflow.I dont think their is a great difference on price between the two but their I guess the pro's and con's.
 
Mid tower is more than enough for most everyone. And yes, smaller cases provide less airflow, but as long as it's not very crowded, I'm sure a mid tower would be almost as good or just as good as a full sized one.
 
Large towers are easier to work in. They hold more (3.5" and 5" devices), also like said before, they usually offer better airflow.

Medium towers are smaller and can fit in more places, easier to transport.


I personally prefer full towers.

exactly, but you must know the type of video card you might get, or else sometime you have to move hdd's out of the way, which isnt such a good thing ;)
 
A midtower case will be fine, as well as taking up less space. I doubt that you will have problems with too little space for your graphics card, as I don't have any problems and my graphics card is 10 inches long :D
 
Full towers are good for server motherboards, as they tend to be much wider than the standard ATX boards. The reason I say this is that if you try to cram a server board into a midtower the optical drives will often times not fit because they bump up against the board or the RAM or something. There are really deep midtower cases though, but you know what I mean.

A mid tower should suit you fine. I don't like carrying around full towers.
 
Im really wondering... but how exacly do smaller cases have lesser airflow? I mean.. effectively, only the air foing through the heatsinks is really important, as for that matter, not the size of the case matters, but the design ;) Im pretty sure my mid tower has a better airflow than quite some big-towers tbh :)
 
What if I am almost never transporting my computer around and I want a lot of space to work in, as well as future upgrades? I think in this case I should get a full tower, right?

As for the increased airflow, there is more space for the air to flow around and not hit the other components.
 
Are you possibly confusing Mid towers with mini towers?
The reason I'm saying this is because Full-size towers are HUGE and hardly anyone actually uses them unless it is a server. Mid-towers are the standard ATX tower size so this might cause confusion. Anyways, Mini-towers usually don't fit ATX motherboards so if thats the case then you would need a Micro-ATX mobo. Mid towers usually have plenty of room for even then largest graphics cards.

Most Mid-Towers have plenty of space for everything.
Mine has space for 4 5.25" drives (CD ROM drives usually)
2 external 3.5" drives (floppy drives usually)
and 5 internal 3.5" drives (hard drives usually)
and Mid-Towers are by far not what i would call "portable"

So, you see why I think you may be confusing them?
