Big Install: New HD, Video Card, Memory, & Processor

Good evening,

I have a Dell Dimension 9200 (desktop from '07).

Today I bought a bigger HD, more memory, better processor and video card per my computer specs.

Could someone please recommend how I should begin the Big Install? I was thinking I would add the processor first, then the memory and video card before installing the HD last.

Please advise.

Thank you,

Kim

It doesn't matter in which order you install those parts. But I, myself, would install them in the same order you just said.

Personally, I would install the Hard drive and Cpu first. Use the ram and graphics you already have, just to make sure everything is running fine with the new cpu and hard drive. Then I would do the ram. Then the graphics. With one giant install, if something is not working, it could be pretty hard to tell what it is, leading to taking all the parts out again.

So hard drive and cpu, then ram, and then finally the graphics card. Ram is easy so that before the graphics. Reason I say graphics last is because you usually need to install the software and downloads for it. You want to do that after you know everything is going gravy :)

Good luck and let us know if you need any more help
