Ok, I've been having some computer trouble. Whenever I plug in my rig and boot up, nothing is displayed on screen and my keyboard and mouse don't light up like they should. Everything inside seems to work fine. The lights work, the graphics card seems to be doing fine, my hard drives are humming, and my CD-ROM is working. The CPU and RAM is fine because it started up and so then so is the PSU.

It seems that the AGP slot and all of the input devices on the motherboard are shot. Nothing is being recognised. I've tried my other USB slots and they don't work and I've tried my other DVI port on my card for my moniter only to have it fail on me.

Do any of you have suggestions? Things I should try? Anything?

SPECS:
GeForce 6800GT AGP Card
Intel P4 3.0 GHz CPU
ASUS [insert model here, I forgot] mobo
2x 512 sticks of DDR PC3200
500W power supply
DVD burner
120GB HDD
250GB HDD

If he had a faulty PSU, wouldn't everything not work?
Wouldnt that depend on where the fault is? ;) (If im being too clever the straight response is: it depends on what the fault is and how it is exacerbated)

Ok, the model of the motherboard is the ASUS P4P800-E.

The make of the PSU is L&C Computer Co. and the model is LC-B500E.
The PSU came with a case I bought a year ago. It was to some extent just a standard PSU. Perhaps of mediocre quality.

I think that maybe a PSU problem is viable. It may be that the main power going to the motherboard works fine but all of the other 4-pin's don't work very well. That still wouldn't explain the input devices however. I don't know what to do about it.

Do you think I'll have to go and get a new motherboard?

I would consider trying a different PSU in the box to rule out the PSU being the problem (the other problem source will prolly be the motherboard)

Alrighty then. I think I'll try out another PSU I have laying around here. If that doesn't work, I'm going SFF.

Thanks for the help.
