im looking at the 7800DXL as it offers simultaneous dualband (2.4/5Ghz) 4 gig LAN ports and the broadcom chipset, plus everywhere it gets really good reviews

can anyone explain if i can allow/block certain networks to and from the internet, is this what the stateful packet inspection does?

SPI doesn't allow and block networks. SPI blocks people from coming into your network. You would need a router such as this and flashed with a third party firmware called DD-WRT and you need to use Optware with Asia block to block networks. You have to do some serious reading on optware to customize the asia block and get Optware to work. If you flash the router wrong with DD-WRT you can brick it!
