Bios not reading hard drives........

Bios not reading hard drives, I already changed the CMOS battery and am still not able to boot Windows. At first I was getting a ntoskrsnl.exe file missing or corrupt, then it would just not boot windows. I tried the hard drives on a another computer and am able to locate the ntoskrnl file which seems like it's fine. Can it be a fried mother board? Thanx in advance.

ps. the hard drives are completely dead in the computer but when I hook them up to another system they work fine.

is the drive SATA or IDE? I'm having a similar problem, my drive isnt detected and i can't boot and then sometimes it works fine. Try unplugging the power from the computer and changing how all your drives are hooked up, this usually gets mine working.

If yours is SATA, unplug the SATA power cable and the data cable. put the data cable back in but in a different port and then put the power back in.

sorry if this is confusing it's just what works for me

I tried it but still nothing. In the Bios boot order it tells me that my hard drives are not present. They work on my other computer but they seem dead in the original computer. Can it be a fried Mother Board? I'm really stumped on this one, it all started with a NTSKRNL missing or corrupt file and then it just stopped working, I cant even format the drives with CHKDSK after hitting R when booting with the Windows disk.
