Can anyone help me. I have a brand new m/b and it is telling me that I have a bios check sum error, and that I should try booting from a CD... I put in windows CD, and nothing happens... I also can not get into BIOS at all.
That isn't good! That would be a bad bios chip on the board. I would rma it fast for a good replacement or go for another model. One reference that explains this type of error is seen at http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000233.htm
The inabililty to get into the bios setup to enter time and date as well as cinfigure the settings shows a defective chip or failed flash of that bios version from the factory. Being a just received board sent it back under the dealer/manufacturer's warranty.
