BIOS doesn't recognise HDD

I don't understand what's happening here; my BIOS doesn't recognise my Boot HDD but if I press F8 during startup I can select the Boot HDD and everything works fine. Would be very grateful for any ideas or solutions.:(

What hardware? Did you install as UEFI or Legacy?

You might have to change the boot order selection for HDD between EFI or "BIOS" depending on how the OS is set up. It should be another entry in the list that looks similar to the one you selected.

Also if this is a new HDD and you have video card integrated in the motherboard and you use an AGT video card, you may have to connect the VGA output of the integrated video card,i say this because i did buy a new HDD and also when i booted it went to a black screen and did not want to recognize my new HDD,i even thought the HDD was bad, so i thought to swap the VGA cable to the Integrated card and rebooted and it recognized the HDD, and after i had installed Ati HD 6450 drivers all was good.

Thanks guys but now sorted; there was another setting in the bios which did show the Boot HDD - all I had to do was select it!!! Thanks for the input tho'.
