BIOS Flash?

Hi, Sorry if i have spammed someone, but i seen on here people saying about BIOS flash, what is it and what does it do?
Another thing is the any point in updating a BIOS? iv never done it and my mobo works fine.

This has a decent basic explanation

But if it's working I wouldn't touch it, as the article says it's what starts/controls your computer up to post and can render a computer useless if it goes wrong.

Just noticed in your sig you are saving for 2X 8600GTS cards, well dont.

You can get an 8800GT for the same price, maybe even cheaper and it will outperform 2x 8600gts, mostly because they don't work well in SLi.
