BIOS flashing problems!

I have an ECS KT600-A mother board. Im having probs with connecting a SATA drive, and need to flash an updated (Award) BIOS but its not working!
The error message i recieve is "Unknown flash type".

Having been told that this is due to the Flash Utility, i have used all the variations of the Award utility, and still no luck. I've even tried flashing the board with its own bios version (backup copy), with no luck!

So what could the problem be???!!!

Have you tried the utility ECS provides?

Yup. I've also checked all the jumpers and the BIOS flash protection... alls in order. come on guys, this is a challenge!!!

is it that the bios is too big to fit on your flash card?

well, it doesnt even flash its own bios, so that cant be the prob. i reckon its something simply preventing me from flashing... but what?

Are you sure you need to update your Bios and not your Sata drivers...

well ive tried installing SATA drive using new drivers, but the problem occurs before i can even load the drivers, because BIOS wont recognise the drive and reports an error.
