I've a problem for quite a while now when it comes to overclocking anything in the bios.
Basically i can reset bios set the cpu, RAM to correct speed and voltages i.e 4.6ghz at 1.22v, and the ram at 1866mhz. I can then play on the pc a bit and a couple of days later i might want to put the cpu to 4.8ghz for example. I go into the bios and set the target turbo boost to 4.8ghz and adjust the voltages accordingly. When i start the pc and run cpu-z it still shows up as 4.6ghz still.
similarly if i set it to 5ghz and dropped the speed to 4.6ghz and lowered the voltage it doesnt adjust it just blue screens. If i then put the voltages back up and run cpu-z it still shows up as 5ghz even though the target speed is 4.6ghz. All speedstep etc is disabled, PLL overvoltage enabled etc.
The only way to change it back again is to reset the bios via the mobo and adjust everything back to normal, this is very annoying being that i have to go into the case to reset everything. Its the same with the RAM if i were to adjust the speed and voltage and timing it would blue screen untill i set the values back to normal again even if i set it to stock speed.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas.
