BIOS Password on Toshiba M400-S5032 laptop help?

I recently purchased a Toshiba M400-S50932 laptop. It has a BIOS password enabled. I have attempted to remove the CMOS battery, but I am sure (being a newer laptop) that this will have no effect, as the passwords are stored in a separate chip on the motherboard.

I got myself to the "Challenge Code" screen, where it provides me the serial number of the laptop & a 25-digit "Challege Code" in groups of 5. It then asks for a "Response Code" which I'm sure is somehow based on the "Challenge Code" because every time the computer is restarted, the "Challege Code" changes.

I called Toshiba Tech Support. What a joke. Apparently, this is a "known issue." After verifying how I purcahsed the laptop, they wanted me to SEND them the laptop and pay upwards of $150 for one of their techs to probably just type the Challenge Code in a tool and generate the Response Code. I would really like to avoid paying that if I could.

Can anyone help?

There is NO parallel port to use the printer cable trick, BTW.

I can't believe that you just purchased this laptop brand new and it has a bios password. And plus if it was brand new from the store it would have a warranty and they wouldn't charge you to remove the bios password. Where did you actually purchase this from?
