BIOS problem

Okay okay, I know I shouldn't fiddle with the BIOS, but try telling that to my know-it-all roommate. Heres the thing. He went into the BIOS and set it to the preset 30% overclock. (MOBO: Asus: P5PL2) now the darned thing wont start up. The mobo is supposed to have this feature so you dont need to reset the BIOS, but that isn't working. So I manually did it. Followed the instructions in the manual for the Jumper settings and removal of the CMOS battery. Nada. Even tried leaving the batter out for a little longer than it suggested. Still nada. Can any of you guys suggest anything? The comp starts up, but screen remains black, and it doesnt make the healthy "beep" it usually does. If theres nothing I can do, I'd rather not take it into a shop to get it checked. I'm thinking buy a new MOBO as I needed an upgrade anyway. Is there anyway to check that the problem actually is with the BIOS? Sorry for rambling and thanks for checking out my post. Thanks in advance for replies.

Cheers

With everthing set to normal with the P/S unplugged. Hit your power button on the case a few times to discharge the P/S. Plug it back up and see if it boots.

I think I'm just going to get a new mobo. What do you guys think of the Asus P5K P35 mobo? I'm a gamer, but not an extremely hardcore one. However I do like my games smooth.
