if there is a bios problem does that mean a new cpu is needed or a new processor

and if it is the mother board is the cpu salvageable

(iv been offered some free computer stuff and the only problem isthat thhere is a bios problem)

sorry if this is a really nooby question

If its a bios issue, then a new motherboard will be required. What type of bios issue is it? Sometimes a bios can be updated but all depends on the issue it has.

its alright now john, the guy has give the stuff to someone else as he got there first for it, thanks for the info though

(noticed your a mod i think you were in a threa dother day about my hdd not having an OS on it...just a quick question about that...if i use my hdd in thje computer i am using now and use the OS in that to boot my new computer 1) is that legal
2) will it work

(i asked the first question as im not too sure how the whole OS thing works i just know its on a computer) (only just started getting into computers you see so take what i say with a pinch of salt and compassion lol)

You can't use a hard drive with in installation of windows on it from one system and move the hard drive to a totally different system and expect the drive to boot into windows like nothing happened. It all depends on the license that was issued to the install of windows. If it was a retail version of windows you can reinstall windows using the cd. If its an OEM license then you can't use it.
