Bios Problem

I got an Abit KV8 Pro and i get a check sum error on start up. The bios got screwed up doing a live update. Anyway i cant find the original bios for it. All i find is upgrades. And it will not flash the bios with an upgraded. I tried calling abit but i was on the line for over an hour and decided to see if you guys had any ideas on where i could get my hands on the disk. My rents cant find it at home (i am at college) i know its there i just probably mis placed it. Anyway any ideas??? Thanks
 
checksum error usally means the battery on the mobo needs replacing,
open the side panel on the pc and on the mobo you will see a button battery
replace it make sure the pc is unpluged and use a anti-static wristband or keep one hand on a metal part of the case.
 
ok i will give that a try. I am using a pci video card for my video. My agp slot hasnt worked since i had no video. Still could be the problem?
 
i agree with that.. just replace ur cmos battery and setup ur system time n date. then boot as normal.. about ur display i think it not a problem...:)
