BIOS security

My daughter has a computer that the BIOS does not have a security section. With two kids she needs to set a password between startup and Windows. That way she could monitor the computer

The BIOS software is a Phoenix-Award BIOS – Revision 3.11 9/02.2004. It contains five tabs(Main, Advanced, Power, Boot, And Exit).

What is wierd to me is that I have three personal computers and all three contain the "Security" tab, but then my computers do not contain a Phoenix BIOS.

Is there anything that could be done for her BIOS?

Thanks,

Have you checked each tab? Most of them that dont have a security tab will have the passwords listed in one of the other ones, such as main or advanced.

3.11 that is an old version
in should still be there, try under the advanced tab

otherwise there may be the option of a bios upgrade, what make and model is the machine and/or motherboard
