BIOS settings locked

So I want to try to overclock my CPU, but when I go into the Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker, I can't move up or down and change the speed of the CPU. Any other way of getting into this besides resetting the CMOS? I have other settings that I don't want to change again.

Have a setting that you need to change from Auto to Manual to change any of the other settings. You trying to change the multiplier?

That's just the thing. I can't get to those choices, either. They're all grayed out. Only thing I can choose is DRAM Configuration. Going up or down does nothing but scroll the page up and down.

try to look for a bios update, and you can also look into the in windows overclocking programs if nothing else.

That's what it looks like, yes, but the top choices are all the darker color of blue. Only one that is yellow is the DRAM Config. Yeah, bumping up the multiplier and running prime95. Just experimenting a little.

You're probably gonna have to reset your BIOS. I've never seen an unstable overclock do that before though personally. And next time take it one step at a time. You have a different machine than I do, so 3.6ghz may not be stable like it was on mine without other tweaks.

P.S. Don't be embarrassed. It's a learning curve ;)

When you go into the bios. Press Ctrl and F1 at the same time. It opens some bios features. See if thats the problem.
