ok i have this new computer build and my blu ray drive is not loading on setup.
i have a LG BDRE model WH14NS40. my motherboard is a ASRock FM2A88X Extreme4+. the ssd seem to be detected by bios. the only other option for boot is some sorta shell. there is no os on the drive i have a windows 8.1 dvd and works fine on my laptop.

Disable fastboot and then look under boot for boot options. Look on page 66 of the manual. You will need to highlight boot option 1 and select what you want. Does the system detect the bdrom drive? Try connecting the drive to another computer to see if its detected. If not, its a bad drive.

Also make sure your BIOS is set to completely initialise all SATA drives during BOOT, not just the primary drive.
