I need to update the bios on my EVGA 750i ftw mobo so i bought a floppy drive.

Plugged it in, the light stayed solid, and got a floppy disk error. I checked the cables and made sure everything was good. Tried it again, same thing happened, only this time the light didnt come on at all. I reset CMOS thinking maybe i had a setting in there that turned off the controller or something. Turned it back on, the light didnt come on at all again and i still got the same error. Vista says it can see it, its in My Computer. When i click on it it tells me to insert a disk when theres already one in there.

EDIT: Error is "Floppy disk(s) error (40)" with a BIOS code of 7F

EDIT 2: Nevermind. I plugged the FDD cable in backwards into the drive. It's all good now. :D

Thanks.

LOL, that was gonna be my suggestion to you to try first. You don't realize how many times that has happened. So you're not the only one that that has happened to.
