Biostar made a great showing on the am2+ platform last time around, as far as I'm aware they were the first to successfully utilize acc to unlock hidden cores with the TA-790gx-128m board which initiated the unlocking madness AMD is known for today. They also made some brilliant m-atx boards, most notably the TA-785g-128m which is well known for it's very high htt overclocking capabilities along with great efficiency and memory performance. Although these two boards in-particular offered enthusiast level performance and features, we never saw Biostar produce any boards with the enthusiast 790fx chipset, as well as a distinct lack of ddr3 compatible am3 boards. Although ddr2 combined with a strong 1:1 divider is arguably what made the last generation of am2+ T-power boards so good, this time around things have changed. We have a wide range of ddr3 capable am3 motherboards based on the 800 series chipsets on offer from Biostar, finally including an fx chipset with the up to date 850 southbridge as well as sata 3 support across the range. I have the TA-870+ up on the chopping block first today which is one of the more budget minded offerings, lets see how she stacks up.
