Bitdefender Internet Security 9 - Comp Crashed

Hello to all Computer Forum Members:

I recently sent my friend Bitdefender Internet Security 9, she installed it and ran a scan because she has so many virus that her trial version of AV couldn't remove it. After she installed it and ran a scan it ask her to reboot, after she reboot it just kept rebooting once it get to the windows logon screen. I would like to know is there a way to fix that problem? she also told me that getting into safe mode it also reboots. Does that mean there is no hope but to format the whole hard drive? Can someone give me some ideas what to do or if there is any help. Thank you in advance

The repair install option is one way to save the current installation and clean the drive of "bugs" if your friend has a full install version of XP on cd. One great article with detailed instructions for preserving the current installation along with the files and folders on the drive can be reviewed at http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

If a repair can be done the next step would be to run a few different removers like the free edition of AVG 7.5 and Grisoft's new AVG Anti-Spyware Free both found at http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5#avg-anti-spyware-free

When these and others that can be recommended are run you can use another free tool known as HiJack This in order to post a log for examination. That will tell if anything was added to IE or there were any new startups still remaining that were "bug related" and need removing.

This is a bit odd, does the os shows you a blue screen ??
Maybe with the message: DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANCELING_PENDING_OPERATIONS STOP: 0x000000CE(0xEE3BB966,0x00000000,0xEE3BB966,0x00000000) regspy.sys

If that is so there's nothing more to do now, just that next time you should first update the BD (if you plan to continue on using it) as it has an issue:

Code:
ISSUE:
On very rare occasions, when using BitDefender Professional Plus (all languages, v8 and v9) or BitDefender Standard (all languages, v8 and v9) or BitDefender 9 Internet Security you might encounter a blue screen with the following message:
DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANCELING_PENDING_OPERATIONS STOP: 0x000000CE(0xEE3BB966,0x00000000,0xEE3BB966,0x00000000) regspy.sys

Cheers

Thank you guys for your help. I am try reinstalling / repairing the windows with the cd. Let see what happens afterward.

There is no blue screen, just a straight restart.
