Black Edition Overclock

I was looking to overclock my processor but I have never worked with an unlocked multiplier before. I understand that you can raise the multiplier instead of the reference clock but wasn't sure as far as how much to raise it at a time and if it was safer/more efficient to overclock with the multiplier?

Anyone know any good guides for overclocking black edition processors or even just a processor with an unlocked multiplier?

Thanks for the help :)

I found that there was no, or super negligible, difference between raising FSB vs multi. I've had 3 BE now, and I usually raise the FSB because it also raises the NB and HTT frequency and RAM, but you'll have to figure it out. If doing JUST cpu overclock, do the multi, it's easy. set it to like 2.6ghz for your 9600. if it doesn't work but kind of, raise the vcore, if it works, great, try for higher. If i'm just cpu'ng, i go multi first, then fine tune with FSB.

I tried a 13x multiplier to get 2600mhz and it loaded windows but bsod'ed. I raised the vcore by .5 and it still wasn't stable did I just get a bad overclocker?

Was the voltage still raised to .5 when you had it at 2.5ghz. I guess that should be 1.275V

Have you got that TLB bug fix enabled in the bios?
