just wondering should i have my system drive connected to the jmicron black sata connecter on my mobo.
when i boot up it says no hard disk detected,
then after 3 seconds it finds the drive and boots normally.
its an asus p7p55d-e.
theres nothing in the manual explaining what the jmicron port is for,
just read somewhere it should be used for system hdd thats why i have it there.
would drive performance increase or decrease by connecting it to the blue sata ports?

I built my buddies com with the same MOBO. It would not boot to save its life. I called ASUS and they had me go into the bios and disable the JMICRON device. I have no idea what it is for. They said it was for future upgrades, who knows.

My complaint on this and my ASUS mobo is it will do anything it can to boot from any drive that is not the main drive until I manually selected the drive I wanted. I had the same issue with my MOBO but was ready. After my system was set up and I added a 2nd HDD to SATA 3 the system would no longer boot once again, I went to the BIOS and changed the main boot device again. You would think it would know this.
