Hi new to these parts so im hoping for some new thinkin.

Asus M2n-e Mobo
amdx2 4800 cpu
7950gt GFX
600w Ocz gaming PSU
4gig kingston ddr2
300gig maxtor ide HD

All was fine until a week ago (when i sold the thing), i got the pc back to have a look at it, Basically it refusues to boot/load into anyform of windows screen.

I cant get past the black screen after the bios posts, it justs hangs there blinking away at me, Ive also tried formating the HD on another machine and reinstalling any verion of windows, ALL hang again in the same bit.
(XP hangs not long after the
INSPECTING YOUR CURRENT SYSTEM CONFIGURATION msg),

windows 7 hangs at the screen that says

(windows 7 swirly graphic stuff here but isnt)

Windows 7
microsoft coperation

Ive tried booting with a SATA drive, makes no diff, ive taken the gfx card out and it works in another system, ive taken the origional HD out and managed to install my working copy of Windows 7 on it put it back into the machine AND..nope still the same very annoying black screen with blinking cursor, Ive reset the bios, updated the bios, changed boot order etc, all of which take me back to the same place..that stinky black screen. The only real thing that i have noticed that could be suspicious is the PSU...it has funky pale blue LED's in it, if my memory serves me correct i never had to wait for the PSU to warm up before the LED's come on..now this is what happens.

thanks for ur reading time

Also, try a different HDD. Configure a spare with Ubuntu (or any Linux distro that you know how to use), and see if it will read that. Could be a HDD read error (unlikely since you configured sucessfully on another computer, but still possible).
Another thing to try is to try another PSU to see if that makes a difference.
