Hello everyone, I am having a problem with my toshiba laptop (windows XP). I accidently disabled something i shouldnt have. I was trying to fix a problem but managed to create another, doh!! When i power up the screen is normal until the bit when it asks you to select user the screen at this point is blank i cannot see anything. I can still login but the instead of seeing my desktop the screen is still blank/Black. Windows response to keyboard and mouse commands as normal its just that the screen is effectively off. Any help with this would be greatly received. Thanks

Julian

where were you )on the computer when this happened)? once i changed the screen resolution to a setting that was not compatable (too high)and the wallpaper just disappeared.

restart the computer in safe mode then either change the settings back (if you know what you did)or reset to a restore point beyond your mishap, then restart.

Can you see icons? Does it say (your user account name) dektop cannot be accesed?

If it says that and you have no desktop at all try creating a new user account. This has happened to me before

I think i was in desktop properties and i disabled the monitor. How do i restart in safe mode?
