blank screen after moving the lid

Hi,

The screen goes blank (very dark) after moving the lid even just a bit. Only powering the laptop off, removing the battery, and then put it back on, gets the light back on.

huh, seems like the following, the moniter cord is loose from the mother board, the lamp is bad, the lamp power supply is bad or the switch is bad. If you can, you can open your laptop (ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING) and look near the hinges of the moniter and look for a wire. there should be a place it plugs in to the mother board. just pop it out make sure it is clean and plug it back in. if it still has problems you may need to open your monitor
 
you already pin point the problem trace lid actuator switch lines and make sure its properly place, if remove make sure it is remained in an open mode... brian is right do it at your own risk because opening a laptop is not an easy task and not recommended if your not sure what your doing better ask for an expert to do it for you....

My first thought would be the inverter board, or the LCD itself. But replacing the inverter board is cheaper.
