blank spots on web pages

Hey guys i had a question for you? Why is it that when im on a web page certain parts wont show up on my screen? it show an empty space where something should go tho? thanks for the help
 
What browser are you using? You could be missing a plugin for one of the following: Java, Flash, Shockwave, or an ActiveX control.
 
Is this happening with EVERY website you visit? It could just be that the website you were looking at could be under construction
