I accidentally plugged a 19 volt charger into my secondary hardrive that has a 12 volt charger. I remember seeing a bright green flash from the power LED. If i blew out my power supply what should I do? My friend told me that i should put it in a plastic bag, take out all the air, and stick it in the freezer. SHould i try? Or is there any other way to fix it. Thanks!

Blown PSU in freezer? or the HardDrive?

I dont think the freezer would do anything to a blow PSU or the HDD?

It is most likely your PSU and you should get another one. Im not totally sure.

We had a power surge n i saw a bright Blue light (blue LED in PSU) and it was fried. Smell it. Does it smell Burnt

no it doesnt smell burnt and the two or three times i tried to turn on the harddrive again the greent light would blink once or twice and then die out. Now it just stays black when i turn it on. If i blew out the power and my datas not harmed how exactly would I replace the power supply? Im not very familiar with electronics. THanks very much you guys.
