blocked keyboard

I have a keyboard that works fine with every program, except when I and a friend of mine play beat'em up games (like Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Virtua Fighter etc...). Each one has one end of the keyboard. Then, after about half hour of play, when I press certain combinations of keys (like forward + punch), I can only go forward but without punching. Some actions, however, cannot be performed even when at the very start of the game- pressing certain 3 keys at once (Insert,Home,PageUp) never produces a result.
Along with this I noticed that only my half of the keyboard is "inapt" or can be blocked; the other- the left half - is fine.

I tried installing a new keyboard but it has the same problem only concerning different keys. What can I do?

i know exactly what you mean. this can be compared to a typwriter where you cant press more than a couple of keys at once.

i think this is called the telephony of the keyboard - maybe something which can be adjusted in your bios - called typomatic settings?

My suggestion is however to buy a USB keyboard - then use two at once. More space to press keys and no chance of keys not working. I wonder if there is a software hack available?

You can change the typmatic settings in the BIOS for most computers

Yup it's an option in most bios's, if by chance you dont have it as an option I believe it can also be changed within windows.

The two keyboard idea I like :-). I dont want anyone touching my keyboard while I play games! :-).
