Blocking single websites

Any way I can, for example, change the website IP number to a bogus one so that site will stop working? I need to do so for Firefox if possible. Thanks.
 
A little more info would be useful, but I think you may be looking at using either Protowall or Peerguardian, which will block IPs. In those cases you add IP (ranges) and they are blocked from your access and vice-versa.
 
You could also use the hosts file so that when the web address is requested it gets re-directed to local host (your computer).
 
That's kinda what I'd like to do buzz. Lets use myspace for example? How could I have myspace redirected? thanks
