Blu-Ray on older computers

Hello. I am new to the Blu-Ray world, and I was wondering if older (3 y.o.) motherboards usually support newer Bly-Ray burners?

Specifically
Motherboard: Asus P5LD2 SE
Blu-Ray burner: LG WH10LS30K 10X Blu-ray Burner
 
Yes, your system will support it. As long as you get the right type of connection, IDE or SATA.
