Blu Ray Players for your PC

I just purchased a LiteOn drive for just under 100, and it seems you get what you pay for. The firmware is from the manufacturer only plays up to v2.5 BD discs, which means that it plays about half of them. Older ones play fine, newer ones don't play at all. Kinda hit or miss.

Easy install and it plays DVD/CD just fine tho. Only major drawback is it lacks burning capability. But for the price, its a great read only, quick install, but unless the manufacturer updates their firmware, kind of a waste in the long run.

The reason some are faster than others is because if you are trying to put the movie one your computer and its 2 hours long, I believe it would take two hours, but if it was like 60X then it would take like 2 minutes. Also if your computer lags or something, then it gives you some buffer so your movie doesnt pause also

The faster the X, the faster it spins the disk, the faster read and write times. But most of them are burst speeds. It cant maintain the top speed, ever noticed how a DVD/CD speed will flog up and down while reading or writing to it.

That sounds to me like it may be a software issue. You may want to look into a software update for your movie watching software.
