Blue Screen Blu-Ray Issue

Hi guys,

Recently purchased CyberLink PowerDVD 15 Ultra to watch some Blu-Rays on my new Samsung TV from my desktop and ran into a frustrating issue.

The TV is 1080p, the Roku and everything else will display in 1080p on it. I had it connected to my computer through an Display Port to HDMI adapter and a HDMI cable to the TV. When I first attempted to use it, it would only display in 768p for some reason, the "recommended" in the Windows Display Settings. Then I went ahead and went to play a Blu-Ray and once the Blu-Ray was loaded, up and was just about to play, I got a blue screen of death and a restart. This happened 3 times, so it is reproducible. Once it would restart after the blue screen, suddenly it would recognize the TV is 1080p and display right.

I disconnected the TV and just ran a Blu-Ray on my monitor and it worked just fine.

Anyone have an idea what in the world is going on?

Thanks!

Run bluescreenview

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

Well shite. Suddenly everything works just fine. I looked in BlueScreenView and it had no crash logs, so I tried again on the TV and it worked just fine. I have no idea what was going on. I'll reply to this thread again if it rears its ugly head again.

Thanks for the advice!
