'Blue screen of death' - Dead Motherboard?

Hi all,

I recently started getting the 'blue screen of death' not far into booting up of my computer. I tried booting with a Windows XP disc but it could 'see' the hard drive although the BIOS could.

I have tried the hard drive in another computer, changed the cable and checked the power supply - they're all fine. I've tried another hard drive in my computer and it does the same. I have removed all unnecessary hard ware and still have the same problem. I've have also tried my power supply in another computer and that's fine.

This only leaves the mother board, right? Just thought I'd check before diving in and changing it.

Thanks for any feedback,

Matt.

set the SATA mode to IDE in your BIOS. either that or load the SATA drivers during your XP installation, that is why the installation says it cant find any drives
