Hey everyone I'm running into a problem while playing games. Anytime i play a game my computer will crash and give me a memory dump error. Now I have run memtest and it picked up nothing. I've put my fan on the memory still he same thing. My CPU is not overheating.

So I was wondering if any of u had any clue way could be wrong. Thanks

Update your sound and video drivers.

Check if the game developer has released any patches for your game.

Are you overclocking your CPU/RAM/mainboard? If so pull back a little bit.

There's also a program called Whocrashed which can be helpful for analyzing those memory dump files and help you pinpoint the cause.

the problem doesn't seem to be happening anymore. i went 2 hours without a single crash. i did slightly lower my gpu overclock which might have caused the problem

well i got the error while playing crysis. heres what it says from whocrashed.

The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect, possibly the culprit is in another driver on your system which cannot be identified at this time.

Ive also gotten this error message:

Does anyone think he has a blue screen of death (a dreaded BSOD)?
Yes, it's a blue screen. If the subject of the post wasn't enough, this tells you.

As suggested above, what I'm finding on this says it's video card related.

happened again at stock settings.

Could the problem be with the 10.6 catalyst drivers?

It's possible, did the blue screen start after you updated your drivers? If so, try rolling them back.

I'll try to install the previous drivers later but what I did notice is the problem only happens with crysis now. If I play at very high settings it gives me the blue screen almost immediatly. If I play at say medium it doesn't happen for a while but eventually does. Btw I have a 4870
