Blue Screen

whenever I turn on the DSL modem, my computer crashes.
I get a blue screen with the following messages:
" The problem seems to be caused by the following file epfwtdi.sys

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

80 Gigabytes Hard Drive
1 Gigabyte of RAM
VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2
Avast anti virus and Zone Alarm firewall.

Can anybody help?
 
I'm assuming that u r on a wired connection via ethernet cable going directly into the modem. Have u tried via another cable?
