Blue screens of death

I swear I get more blue screens of death than anyone. The one I've been getting lately is the tcpip.sys one. I've reinstalled windows, updated all my drivers, ran ccleaner, and still get the bsod.

This has to be a new record... 3 different blue screens in one day

tcpip.sys

System_Service_Exepction

and

driver_IRQL_not_less_or_equal

Does anyone know how to fix any of these?
I've tried ccleaner... I've updated all drivers... reinstalled windows... and did all the updates... idk what else to do...

The issue may be a hardware issue. Do you have the program "Memtest86+"? You may want to use that and let it run thru five cycles (it may take several hours) to test your RAM.

It could also be overheating. Is your processor heatsink free of dust and garbage? You also tried putting your processor back to manufacturer specified clock speeds? If you are using the OKIA power supply that may also be the issue. It isn't a good quality power supply in my opinion.

I have a performa aftermarket cooling system in there keeping my cpu cool. I get blue screens with my cpu at stock clocks as well as overclocked.

I will do the ram test like you said.

nothing to be said about the psu...

Hey 2048, You use ubuntu right? Is it just an os? Would I be able to have ubuntu and keep my windows? In other words having two operating systems by which I can choose which one to start up when I turn my computer on?

I want to try ubuntu but I'm afraid when I install ubuntu my windows will be gone...

You can actually install ubuntu inside windows. You choose which to boot from at startup, and if you don't like it, you can just go into windows and uninstall it.

But isn't running ubuntu inside of windows defeating the purpose? Would it still not be stable since windows is still involved?

Also, how many programs are actually able to work with ubuntu?

The way I have Ubuntu and Windows XP setup in my system is I have two hard drives. One drive has Ubuntu version 9.04 installed on it. The other drive has Windows XP installed on it.

I change the boot priority in BIOS on the two different hard drives when I want to switch operating systems. I like it since it only takes 20 seconds or so to do the switch. I use Ubuntu for reading, record keeping, banking and the Internet. I use Windows pretty much for video games and studying for the A+ Certification Bridge Exam that I am going to be taking soon.

No I've had to use the computer all day. I ran it once then had to use the computer so I will run it through some passes now.

I would try scanning your hard drive next for any bad sectors. Is there also another power supply you can switch your system with to test?

I don't have another psu. I did the hard drive thing. Network drivers are already up to date. Now I will let you know what kind of blue screens I'm getting if any.

Thanks.

Have you tried formatting first your hardisk before checking other parts? Sometimes reinstalling your OS is not enough to get rid if there are any harmful programs like viruses, it also causes blue screen.

shouldn't have any viruses or anything like that. I'm super overprotective about that stuff and my computer is clean. Hardly anything downloaded. I just got a new hard drive a couple weeks ago and it's been blue screening from the start. It doesn't happen randomly that's for sure. It happens sometimes when I try to access my windows live email using firefox, and sometimes when I use a program called fruity loops. I did just get a blue screen:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x0000000001c, 0x00000000002, 0x00000000001, 0xFFFFF8800167B3BA)

tcpip.sys - Address FFFFF8800167B3BA base at FFFFFF88001662000 datestamp 4c15a458

I may have an error in there but this is all the information I got from it. It has to be some kind of network driver causing the problem but what can I do? I've already uninstalled it, installed it, updated it, etc. I'm stuck...

If this problem did not start happening until you got a new hard drive the drive is likely faulty. I would get a return merchandise authorization (RMA) from the vender you bought it from and get a replacement hard drive.
